My work
Three companies, three different learning experiences.
I went from preparing files for manufacturing, to optimizing CAD workflows, to running my own product line.
Here’s what I brought to each one.

Fantacci Industrie s.r.l. (2021-2026)
Fully Remote CAD Designer
I worked remotely with Fantacci, an Italian manufacturer of woodworking cutting tools, from 2021 to 2026, designing tools in Pro/Engineer and optimizing the overall design process.
The starting point
- It took me one week to learn the company workflow in Pro/Engineer(PTC Creo), a platform I wasn’t familiar with
- I stayed on-site for 3 months to learn each stage of the manufacturing process, not just parametric design. I wanted to understand what happens behind the scenes.
- By the end of month 3, I was designing one tool in ~2 hours (1h 48m)

What I improved
Once I moved to remote work, I started optimizing my workflow for better productivity.
- I built macros and shortcuts to automate the repeatable steps, which the company later acquired to optimise the internal design team
- I developed a custom companion program to handle the shortcomings of the parametric modeling software. It would often crash, and all data would be lost. My solution fixed that.
- When measuring in AutoCAD, measured values would automatically be noted and transferred to the program without manual entry
The result
The optimization paid off consistently. Here are the numbers:
- 1hour 48 minutes → 27 minutes per tool design
( 27 minutes is the average time for the last 1000 tools) - 75% less design time, increased quality, and reduced errors
Leading the software transition
When the company decided to move away from Pro/Engineer to new software, I led the transition.
- I spoke with vendors and evaluated 4 platforms: PTC Creo, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, and Siemens NX
- After extensive research and calls, I chose Autodesk Inventor as the best fit
- I built the parametric design template from the ground up, carrying over the mathematical formulas from Pro/Engineer to ensure compatibility with the manufacturing floor
- I brought in new workflows to take advantage of what modern software could do, making the design process more seamless
- I kept supporting production in Pro/Engineer, so there was zero downtime during the switch, urgent orders were finished the same day
During these past five years, I learned valuable skills. Most importantly, I learned that there will always be problems to solve and processes to optimize. As I look back, I hope I helped steer the company toward a new direction for a bright future.
Now, I am excited to bring this same mindset and dedication to a new role and a new challenge.

3D Platforma d.o.o. (2020-Present)
Founder & Design Engineer
I founded the studio to turn 3D printing from a hobby into a business. Today we run two product lines: decorative architectural lighting for individual customers, and nameplate tile systems for residential buildings.
DFM learned through iteration
- I learned design for manufacturability through years of hobby 3D printing, through trial and error
- Problem: Early LED modules overheated inside the print; Solved it by adding an inline resistor (to reduce current) and redesigning the geometry to create distance between the LED module and the printed plastic
- I redesigned the print itself to remove an assembly step:
I added built-in ventilation and a scheduled pause mid-print so the LED module gets placed directly inside while printing - I fine-tuned wall thickness in the slicer software to control light diffusion and get desired results
Nameplates
- This is a simple product by design, but producing hundreds of individually named plates isn’t. There were a lot of manual input errors
- I wrote a custom script that takes a resident list and automatically generates print-ready files for every plate, with no manual input needed
Result
Both product lines have grown mainly through repeat orders and referrals. For a small studio, that kind of trust is what matters most.

DM Kristal d.o.o. (2015-2020)
Co-Founder & Design Engineer
My father came back from a trip to the United States with a souvenir I had never seen before, a Statue of Liberty seemingly floating inside a solid crystal cube. Neither of us encountered the technology before, and we discussed how it was made. My father helped me find a business partner, and DM Kristal was born, with him quietly backing us from behind the scenes.
The workflow
- I modeled the object in Autodesk 3Ds Max, then I prepared the file in the laser software, which converted it into a point cloud that the laser could “read”
- Then a high-powered laser would engrave a complex model inside a 50x80x50mm crystal, for example, in about 10 seconds
- Then I did quality control, packaging, and delivery
Precision problem, precision fix
The laser itself was fast and powerful, so if the crystal wasn’t positioned exactly right on the plate, the engraving would come out crooked, or it could even burst through the side of the crystal, shattering it.
For a long time, I aligned every cube by hand, measuring with a ruler and running a low-power test pass before committing to the real engrave.

Eventually, I designed a custom centering jig in Fusion 360, which could hold any crystal cube size we had and center it automatically on the plate. There was no more manual measuring, and no more rejects.
Result
It wasn’t a manufacturing optimization in the traditional sense, but it solved a real problem. And that is the same kind of thinking that I later brought to 3D Platforma and Fantacci.
About me
I’m Marko, a CAD designer and workflow optimization specialist with over 10 years of experience across manufacturing, custom fabrication, and product design.
I treat every repetitive process as a problem to solve. My work centers on one thing: turning slow, manual design process into a fast, repeatable one.
I worked remotely with an Italian tool manufacturer, co-founded a crystal engraving studio, and now, I run my own studio called 3D Platforma.
Based in Podgorica, Montenegro, I design and produce custom products from concept to delivery.
I work best with minimal oversight, just give me the goal and constraints, and I’ll figure out the rest. When I do need something clarified, I ask concise questions and move on. I don’t like wasting time.
